Lyndsey Powell - Lead Teacher
|

|
|
Lyndsey Powell is the mother of two small children; both children will also be attending Village Montessori. Prior to joining Village, Mrs. Powell taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at a local Catholic School. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder, and her graduate studies at Mercer University. She is currently working towards her Montessori certification through the Atlanta Montessori Teacher Education Program. She is very excited about leading the toddler class.

Shih-Ping Harper - Lead Teacher
|

|
Shih-Ping received her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education at Chia
Nan University of Pharmacy and Science in Taiwan. She finished
her AMI Montessori training at Washington Montessori Institute in Maryland in 2005 and then continued with her masters degree in
Montessori Education at Loyola College in Maryland. After earning the AMI diploma, Shih-Ping worked
at a Montessori school as an assistant before joining VMS.
Shih-Pings hobbies are ice hockey, outdoor activities, and cooking.

Sarah Hill-Guiheen - Lead Teacher

|
Sarah received her AMI Primary certification in 2005
from Washington Montessori Institute. She also holds an M.Ed. from Loyola College
in Maryland and a B.A. in Anthropology and History from the University of Virginia.
She strongly believes in the social benefits of the Montessori environments in preparing children for life.
Sarah moved to the Atlanta metro area in August 2007, where she is now settling in with her husband. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys cooking, traveling and the great outdoors.

Dixie Schrock - Lead Teacher

Dixie received her Primary certification from the Montessori Institute of Atlanta
in 2005. She holds a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Psychology from North
Georgia College. Before her certification she held an assistant position in
the Primary classroom for 3 years.
Dixies interests include photography, gardening, and pottery. Dixie is very
dedicated to Montessori teaching and philosophy, as well as parent education.

Kamilah Scales - Lead Teacher

|
|
Kamilah received her B.S. in Mathematics from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. She completed her AMI Primary Montessori training at the Montessori Institute of Atlanta in 2007, and she is currently finishing her M.Ed. through Loyola College in Maryland.
Kamilah is originally from Houston, Texas and moved to Atlanta in 1999. She enjoys frequent trips to Georgia parks, including the Chattahoochee National Parks and Stone Mountain Park, where she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities. Kamilah also loves writing, music, and different types of arts and crafts.

Siobhan Medina - Lead Teacher

Siobhan combined her love of science with her love of children by studying zoology,
botany, geology, chemistry and math at the University College Dublin before transferring
to Sion Hill College of Education. There she spent her final three years studying
for her Primary and Elementary Montessori certification. Siobhan also holds the
Benincasa Special
Education diploma, recognized by AMI and the Department of education in Ireland.
Siobhan's teaching experience includes 1 year with Toddlers, 1 year at a traditional school, 11 years at the Primary level, and 10 years at the Elementary level. Siobhan
also has a love of languages, especially Spanish, which she shares with the children.
Siobhan is a former Montessori student and the mother of two. She is a VMS parent.

Jason Kleiber - Lead Teacher

|
|
Jason received his AMI 6-12 Elementary Certification in 2003 from Loyola College
in Baltimore, Maryland, and also holds a M.Ed in Montessori Education from Loyola
College and a B.A. in Sociology from the University
of Maryland.
Jason plays soccer, golf, and occasionally still skateboards. Jason also maintains
an interest in photography and practices yoga, incorporating both into his classroom.
Jason's lovely wife Ginger, a Lower Elementary teacher, works at the Duluth Montessori
School. Jason joined VMS in 2003 as the Upper
Elementary Teacher.
