The Advantage of Village Montessori School

The Village Montessori Advantage

VMS is accredited by Association Montessori International (AMI), an internationally recognized organization with rigorous Montessori standards. AMI/USA consultants evaluate the school, classrooms, and staff every two years for AMI accreditation, which we have held since 1996. Dr. Montessori’s discoveries about child development and how children learn best has become a proven curriculum for children all over the world.

Successful Graduates are a Hallmark of VMS

VMS has Master’s level teachers at every level of development, Toddler through Middle School. Meet our staff here. The longevity of teachers and assistants is a testament to their commitment to our community and students. All of our teachers are AMI certified and required to attend AMI refresher courses every two years to ensure their lessons/classrooms continue to follow Montessori pedegogy.

VMS partners with parents to best educate our students. Our small community enables us to form close relationships with families and their children. Parent education nights are offered to guide families through Montessori theory and help them to create the appropriate environment for their children at each Plane of Development. Individual parent conferences are held twice a year to allow time to discuss the progress and goals of the st. We welcome and encourage parents to observe classrooms in progress at any time. VMS also has a dynamic Parent Association that supports all school and community service activities.

Each lesson is tailored to the individual student. VMS graduates possess the tools to be socially and emotionally successful as well as academically advanced. Evidence proves that students who complete the curriculum VMS offers score well above national norms and standardized testing.

Lessons are presented to one child or a small group. Social skills and conflict resolution are balanced with academic

achievement. Children work at their own pace, moving forward upon mastery of skills. Mixed age groups allow students to be role models and mentors. Students learn to evaluate and recognize their own progress.

VMS is an Active Member of the Community

VMS has been a part of the Roswell community since 1995. We have set a standard for quality Montessori Education in North Metro Atlanta and are proud to partner with charities and local businesses. Each winter, the middle school students host a Market Sale to raise funds to be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Additionally, all of our classes collect donations for world crises. Giving back to others is one of our core values that we instill in our students.
